The stomach is full but the desire to eat and hold up and difficult to stop. Researchers found the reason why someone wants to continue to eat even though the stomach is feeling full.
In this research, scientists still focus on the work of the hormone ghrelin appetite hormone produced by the body when hungry. Previous studies of this hormone called up when hungry and that hunger signals delivered to the brain to be eaten. Previously also mentioned hormone ghrelin is produced outside the brain and most commonly found in the stomach.
In a recent study found hormone ghrelin can also work in the brain, – without waiting for the hungry – that makes people continue to eat because eating activity by the hormone ghrelin was fun even though the stomach is full.
Researchers conducted experiments on mice for human ghrelin is identical to rat ghrelin. In this study, researchers tested two standard behavior of rats.
In the first stage researchers placed the rats that was full and satisfied eating in a room previously filled with high-fat foods and then fill it with some bland food.
The result, mice that received injections of hormones ghrelin liked the room while the mice that did not receive hormone ghrelin injections act without response.
“Rats that received the hormone ghrelin to enjoy the empty room, no matter the room was empty because they are still associated with something pleasant,”
In the second test, the rats were given injections of the hormone ghrelin keep sniffing the food at the former high-fat dishes. Whereas mice that did not receive the hormone ghrelin surrender faster.
The researchers also found that blocking the action of ghrelin gene in mice prevents blood lingered in the room associated with high-fat foods.
“What we show is that there are situations where we are encouraged to continue to seek and eat even though we had enough without any other reason, other than our brains that tells us to it,”
Work hormone ghrelin in the brain have increased feelings of pleasure. “They give pleasure senses and motivate us to get back and help us organize the memory in order to get the desired return,”
This study answers why someone who was full still want high-calorie desserts.
