Obesity: just measure

Obesity represents several health risks, but certainly none of the complications that bring obesity compared with the risk of death than the disease entails. Risk increases or decreases depending on where you accumulate fat.
A new British study found that the accumulation of fat around the waist twice the risk of premature death. The novelty is that this risk is also increased in those who are considered obese.
The study involved more than 350 000 people from nine European countries. One of the conclusions that were reached is that the BMI (body mass index), which is the measure that determines whether a person is obese or not, is not the correct parameter.
Measure your waist is more than controlling the BMI to determine the risk of death of a person. That is, many times doctors may be missing vital data because they are watching the wrong indicators.
Every inch that adds to the waistline increases your chance of dying (early) of people. It is believed that men have more fat accumulated due when your waist exceeds 120 centimeters, and in women when over 90. While a small waist is considered in the 82 centimeters and 66 centimeters respectively.
The research published “The New England journal of Medicine” revealed that even among people with similar BMI, those with waists larger than twice the risk of dying prematurely in relation to those whose accumulation of abdominal fat is not considered excessive.
What surprised the British scientists was the strong relationship between mortality and waist size, and their impact on human health and premature death. The study showed how the fact of joining a lot of abdominal fat puts your health at risk, even in those whose BMI is considered normal.
What would be best to change the criterion, it is no longer the BMI measurement is used to determine obesity, but that is the waist measurement.
Another problem is that often people do not know well what is the waist area, then, so you can measure you waist no errors you should measure yourself to four inches above the navel.
