Period Balance Diet
To preserve the health and proper functioning of the body need: 13 vitamins, 16 minerals, fats, carbohydrates, protein and plenty of water.
Since no single food alone gives us all that our body needs it is best to eat a balanced diet. By eating a wide variety of foods in reasonable proportions obtain optimal levels of all nutrients. The ideal is complemented by daily physical activity.
TO FOLLOW THIS DIET YOU MUST TAKE THE DAY:
* Five servings of fruits or vegetables.
* Six servings of complex carbohydrates.
* Two servings of milk or yogurt.
* Two servings of protein.
* Between 15 grams and 25 grams of fats and oils.
TABLE OF FOOD FRUITS
This group includes fresh and dried fruits and fruit juices. Provides the body vitamin C, beta carotene, folate, fiber and sugar.
VEGETABLES
They are the basis of many diets, although not vegetarian. They are vital for providing vitamins, minerals, fiber and carbohydrates.
Milk and dairy products (except butter and cream)
The main nutrients that are obtained in this group are: calcium, magnesium, protein, riboflavin and vitamins B12 and A
Meat, poultry, fish and other (vegetables, eggs and nuts)
They are sources of iron, zinc, protein and B vitamins, especially vitamin B12
